Take a minute to think about your family and what sort of setting you would want your most precious loved one to reside in if they had dementia. This will help you to imagine the value that soft sensory experiences rather than harsh environments that are loud, glarey, busy, clinical, restrictive and/or unsafe might have…… that is what we do. We are informed, thoughtful and empathetic in our treatment of environments when we are honoured with the gift of designing for residents with dementia.
