Rear Window Project Description

August 2009

Over two nights noise, punk, post-punk, techno-anarchy and the Botborg brought a new wealth of sound and image performance to the Melbourne International Film Festival. Featuring The Primitive Calculators, Gossip Pop, Pig&Machine with DPWolf, SONE, Botborg, Vogonia, and the odd ARF ARF.

Two nights of the bright, abrupt, appropriated and aggregated, where the virtual dead and the nearly dead did battle. Where popular culture was treated as it should be. Where feedback invaded the senses, and the noise of Japan collided with the noise of Melbourne. With the vocal, exploited and stolen, these were nights where the fascination of the mirrored self was exposed for its true perversion. Where poetry was beaten, filmed and cut in black and white, and public boundaries where ignored and ratified.

Intermission 2009 was a serious Wardrobe Malfunction!!!
